Time Machine® Helps Accenture Test and Deploy a Mortgage Application for one of the World’s Largest Banks

Delivering a critical mortgage application on Microsoft’s Azure cloud for one of the world’s largest banks is not an uncommon challenge for a firm like Accenture. With a bank of this caliber, ensuring on time delivery with the highest possible quality standards is a must. Often times, this requires comprehensive end to end testing before handoff.
The application under testing in this instance was a web based .NET system called Omiga. This is an off the shelf product used to sell mortgages in the UK Market. During the first release of the platform, extensive testing was required against all the system parameters that had been configured specifically for the client.
Critical business processes associated with origination, underwriting, credit checks, offer generation, and releasing of funds, not to mention regulatory compliance, can be overwhelming. Accenture was looking to cover all the needed test cycles and the critical time sensitive logic without changing the system clock.
Without such a solution, Accenture would have been forced to endure a longer test phase, resulting in a much higher risk based approach. As a result, that precious time needed to deliver mortgage applications to their clients would be stripped away. This would end their entire testing phase and create unwanted delays that jeopardized their deadlines. As a consequence, the banks would be unable to process their mortgage applications in a timely fashion.
The Time Machine Solution:

Project Manager reached out to Solution-Soft for the current “Mortgage Intermediary Program” and scheduled a PoC to validate interoperability in the Azure cloud. This box was checked, and Time Machine was quickly procured.
To maximize efficiency from a functional prospective, Accenture used Time Machine to “future proof” application process flows and validate parameter values to ensure trigger points in the UK Mortgage Application journey. With Time Machine, the team was able to cycle through these trigger points without changing the system clock to ensure all behaved correctly per the functional and business requirements defined by the clients.
“A mortgage platform has a number of time critical parameters that are triggered in the e2e journey. Testing without Time Machine would have resulted in a much higher risk based approach to the System Integration test phase or a longer test phase” said project manager, Hiren Patel.
With that confirmation, it’s clear Time Machine contributed to a successful on-time delivery, Accenture’s customers are extremely happy about the seamless deployment, and Solution-Soft was once again recognized for their “fantastic” customer support.
