Time Machine for Containers eliminates the need to modify container images within the namespace, ensuring a seamless integration of time travel capabilities. This non-intrusive method guarantees security by avoiding the necessity for root privileges and bypassing the need for Time Machine® installation on the container host system.
Time Machine for Containers obtains its license from the Floating License Server's pool, eliminating manual key requirements for each container. This feature is particularly advantageous for dynamic environments where pod fluctuations occur based on loads. Moreover, namespace virtual clocks simplify the setup process for sync groups, requiring only one virtual clock for the entire namespace, regardless of the number of pods in it.
Managing Time Machine for Containers within Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift clusters is effortless, facilitated by the Floating License Server, Sync Server, and Enterprise Management Console on a single management box. The Sync Server can broadcast a unified virtual clock to multiple Time Machine for Containers across various namespaces, extending its reach beyond Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift environments. The Enterprise Management Console offers intuitive GUI access for monitoring and managing virtual clocks for Time Machine® for Containers, Sync Server, and Floating License Server. Additionally, customers can provision these components pre-installed from AWS or Azure Marketplace.
