Solution-Soft Announces Availability of Time Machine® Sidecar Container for Red Hat OpenShift

A pod level virtual clock and non-root sidecar approach makes enterprise level Kubernetes time travel and deployment a breeze.
Time Machine Sidecar is a Red Hat certified container that can run on Red Hat OpenShift, the industry’s leading enterprise Kubernetes platform, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments. Time Machine is implemented as a non-root sidecar container to be placed inside a pod to provide the pod with virtual clocks to time travel all the containers within the pod as a whole. .
Our Product Suite including Floating License Server, Sync Server and Enterprise Management Console are bundled as a Time Machine Management Node to automate license provisions for hundreds of dynamic micro-containers and to broadcast the same virtual clock to the entire Kubernetes environment or beyond.
Time Machine saves ten-fold or more on resources and costs associated with temporal testing of applications. It enables you to finish your large scale software projects on time and under budget. With the new release, Time Machine's Sidecar Container revolutionizes time travel application testing in containerized environments.
The non-root sidecar approach means images of containers within the pod do not need to be modified at all to add Time Machine time travel capability, which is a great benefit as it is non-intrusive and effortless. There are no security concerns as it does not require root privileges and it is also self-contained as no Time Machine installation is needed on the container host system itself.
Time Machine Sidecar Container can get its license automatically from the Floating License Server's pool of licenses. No manual key is required for each sidecar container ever and it is perfect for dynamic environments, where pods can go in and out based on loads. Pod virtual clocks ease the discovery process to set up a sync group. If you have multiple containers with a pod, only one virtual clock is needed for the whole pod.
Time Machine Sidecar Containers within Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift clusters can be easily managed by Floating license server, Sync Server, and Enterprise Management Console on the same management box. Sync Server can broadcast the same virtual clock to multiple sidecar containers with multiple pods and even outside the Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift environment. Enterprise Management Console provides easy to use GUI access to monitor and manage virtual clocks for sidecar containers, Sync Server, and Floating License Server. Customers can optionally provision such boxes from the AWS Marketplace with all three components pre-installed.
