Solution-Soft Releases Time Machine® Framework for SQL

SANTA CLARA, CA, July 31, 2018 Solution-Soft Systems Inc, the leader in date and time testing software solutions, releases Framework for Microsoft SQL database.

New Time Machine Framework addition enables SQL database instances to time-travel independently which delivers unprecedented scalability and productivity.

Solution-Soft has announced the newest member of the Time Machine Suite of Products - Time Machine Framework for SQL (TMFSQL). This framework offers the ability to streamline time travel testing for applications deployed to Microsoft's SQL database. The TMFSQL brings all the capabilities of Time Machine and time shift testing with finer granularity to SQL 2008, 2012, and 2016.

With the TMFSQL, sessions of the same SQL instance can now time travel individually. As a result, some sessions can see system time, and some sessions see different virtual clocks.  This is particularly important for multi-tenant Cloud; where different customers may be sharing the same SQL instance and must be able to see their own virtual clock without impacting other customers sharing the same SQL instance.

Like all offerings in the Time Machine Suite of Products, TMFSQL leverages the power and consistency GUI of the Time Machine Enterprise Management Console.  Users can monitor and set virtual clocks on-the-fly with the console or automatically by rule.   Rule also can be defined with Sync Server’s sync group definition to broadcast a virtual clock to multiple systems including TMFSQL.

“Many of our customer time travel their SQL database with Time Machine as a whole, where all sessions to the same SQL instance time travel together.  We have lots of customers expressed interest to be able to do so with finer granularity at the session level, one common usage case is for the Cloud.” said Paul Wang, Chief Technology Officer at Solution-Soft. “We are excited to expand our Time Machine Framework to cover Oracle, WebSphere, Weblogic, Jboss, and now SQL to fit our customers’ needs.”
