Solution-Soft Releases mezipTM Version 2.0
Santa Clara, Calif., April 21, 2006 – SolutionSoft Systems, Inc., a global leader in virtual clock and time travel testing solutions, today announced the general release of mezipTM 2.0, a specialized file compressor for the MEBES file format.
The MEBES format is the most commonly used format for electron beam lithography and photo-mask production. In 2002, the maximum MEBES data volume for a single layer was about 100 GB, and since then the average size has grown to 200 GB. The sheer size of these MEBES files creates challenges when for data transfer, manipulation and storage. With a growing number of semi-conductor design shops turning to fabless production of their products for cost-effectiveness MEBES files are now constantly being transferred electronically between the design houses their partner foundries and mask shops. A prolonged large file transfer will increase the tape out cycle time and decreases the reliability of transfers because of transmission errors and line drops.
Solution-Soft’s patent-pending mezip compresses files as much as 20 times more than generic compression tools. These significantly increased compression ratios make the tape out process faster and easier by providing faster & more reliable file transfers, reduced network bandwidth usage and significant online and off-line storage savings.
