New Disk Space Management Tool for HP3000 Systems
(San Jose, CA) --- Today, Solution-Soft announced the release of Free Space Manager (FSM), a new complimentary tool for its successful e-Space product line. Free Space Manager is a storage management software tool designed to monitor and report on disk volume-set free space in HP3000 MPE systems. Working in tandem with Solution-Soft’s e-Space advanced storage management software, Free Space Manager efficiently and effectively maximizes available system disk space and improves overall file accessibility.
Free Space Manager operates as an easy-to-use, “set-and-forget” background process and notifies system administrators of the disk space volume-set condition as disk space availability reaches user-specified limits. Free Space Manager then automatically invokes e-Space technology to compress user-selected files and recover usable free disk space. Upon file access requests, compressed files are quickly decompressed and made available to the user. Free Space Manager also utilizes user-configurable “rules” for reporting and recovery operations and managing multiple volume sets, with unique rules for each set. Free space recovery is accomplished without incurring system downtime or off-loading data to tape.

Pricing and Availability
Free Space Manager is available both separately (requires e-Space previously installed on system) and packaged with e-Space. Prices start at $500 for Free Space Manager alone and $2000 for a Free Space Manager/e-Space package. Software maintenance is also available.
