Solution-Soft recently conducted a Time Machine presentation and demonstration for the SHI team, highlighting how time travel testing can help customers address complex testing challenges and improve testing efficiency.
The session brought together Solution-Soft and SHI teams to review Time Machine capabilities, customer use cases, industry-specific testing challenges, and opportunities for closer collaboration. A key objective was to help the SHI team recognize where Time Machine can provide value and identify customers with testing requirements that are difficult to address using traditional approaches.
Time-Dependent Testing Across Modern Enterprise Environments
Time Machine provides software virtual clocks that allow organizations to simulate past and future dates without changing the system clock. This enables development and testing teams to reproduce time-dependent scenarios on demand and validate application behaviour before deployment.
The discussion covered key testing scenarios including future-date testing, daylight saving time changes, billing and financial processing, and other date-driven business requirements. The teams also discussed testing across cloud, containerized, and other complex enterprise environments.
Sharing Proven Customer Use Cases
During the session, Solution-Soft shared examples of how customers are using Time Machine across traditional and modern application environments.
Customer use cases included testing daylight saving time changes on Azure and other platforms, validating future-date business logic, supporting cloud and container migration projects, and accelerating large-scale application testing.
The Solution-Soft team also shared experience from customers using Time Machine across large OpenShift environments, demonstrating how virtual time can support complex testing requirements at enterprise scale. Existing utility and financial services deployments further demonstrate the breadth of time-dependent testing challenges across industries.
These examples provide a practical foundation for SHI's team to recognize similar requirements within its customer base and initiate conversations around specific business and technical challenges.
Preparing SHI to Identify Customer Opportunities
A significant part of the collaboration focused on enablement. Solution-Soft will provide SHI with presentations, customer case studies, product information, use cases, and qualifying questions to help the team identify organizations where Time Machine may be relevant.
The teams also discussed the importance of focusing on the right opportunities rather than taking a broad approach. Customers with active modernization programs, complex testing environments, cloud or container migration initiatives, or known time-dependent application requirements can be strong candidates for further discussion. Technical demonstrations and Proof-of-Concept engagements can then provide customers with an opportunity to evaluate Time Machine against their own application and testing requirements.

The collaboration also provides an opportunity to extend Time Machine's reach across additional European markets.
