Time Machine® Now Available for Solaris x86
SANTA CLARA, Calif., Mar 18, 2011— SolutionSoft Systems Inc, (Solution-Soft) a global leader in virtual clock and time travel testing solutions is pleased to announce the general availability release of Time Machine for Solaris 10 x86 & Solaris 11 x86 operating systems.
“Solution-Soft has a long history of providing enterprise software for the Solaris operating system and with these latest releases we continue our support for Solaris customers” said Michael Morrison, Director of Business Development at Solution-Soft. “Solaris-x86 is an important platform for us not only because of its rich capabilities and continuing adaption into the enterprise, but also because it is one of the two operating systems that are used in an Oracle Exadata Database Machine.”
Time Machine is a patent-pending software solution designed to enable testing and simulation of specified system dates and times without modifying or resetting the system clock. The software allows defined applications and users to run under any defined future date, past date or time zone using a virtual clock while the underlying system time remains unchanged. And with the most recent feature added to Time Machine, users can now specify variable speed clocks. This addition allows modifications to virtual clocks to run from 1000 times slower or faster than a real clock.
Oracle Solaris 11 Express raises the bar on the functionality introduced in Oracle Solaris 10, continuing Oracle's leadership for providing the best choice for mission critical operating system enterprise environments. With new features such as network based package management tools to greatly decrease planned system downtime and provide for a complete safe system upgrade, built-in network virtualization and delegated administration for an unprecedented level of flexibility for application consolidation, and continued leadership for providing the highest levels of security, Oracle Solaris 11 Express is the most exciting release of the Oracle Solaris platform to date.
