Solution-Soft Releases SafeCapacity for Linux
SANTA CLARA, CALIF, February 19, 2003 — SolutionSoft Systems, Inc. (Solution-Soft), the leading provider of Intelligent Data Optimization (IDO) solutions, today announced the release of SafeCapacity, automated capacity management software for Linux based Systems. SafeCapacity addresses the increasing need for management tools in the growing storage networking market and provides easy-to-administer storage optimization and capacity overflow protection.
SafeCapacity for Linux uses a policy-based configuration to continuously monitor a server’s file systems, seamlessly allocating more storage space whenever needed. Additionally, SafeCapacity decreases the need to over-provision storage resources on individual systems, thus reducing storage related costs. As opposed to management by crisis, SafeCapacity automatically notifies system administrators when problems occur, and, based on pre-set rules, takes corrective action immediately to increase the amount of allocated storage. By automating capacity management, enterprises can greatly reduce total storage system ownership costs, thereby maximizing the return on investment.
“Recognizing the rapid growth of Linux based systems at our customers sites, Solution-Soft embarked on a port of our SafeCapacity product to Linux some time ago. We are very pleased to announce this release as it extends or reach into the corporate data center now and into the future,” said Paul Wang, CTO of Solution-Soft. “This version allows us to provide yet another platform option for our many customers who need a robust solution for pro-actively managing their most critical storage environments."
SafeCapacity is currently available for Linux, Windows (2000, XP and 2003), Unix (Solaris, HP-UX and AIX) and MPE (HP-3000).
Solution-Soft’s SafeCapacity has been certified "IBM TotalStorage Proven™"
