Solution-Soft Adds Variable Speed Virtual Clocks to Time Machine®

SANTA CLARA, Calif., Date June 14, 2010 — SolutionSoft Systems Inc, a leading provider of Intelligent Data Optimization (IDO) today officially announces variable speed virtual clocks have been added to the flag-ship product Time Machine as a general feature.

Time Machine’s new variable speed clock adds to the general features of Time Machine by allowing software applications to travel through time at a user defined pace.  With this new update, quality assurance or software simulation users can run their set of applications at any defined speed - up to 1,000 times faster than real-time or down to 1,000 times slower.

This new functionality extends the previous general features of Time Machine, which include running software applications with virtual dates set into the future or past and even frozen in time at any user selected date and time.  With Time Machine, different users on a single machine can each have their applications running in their own unique time & date without affecting the system clock.  Additionally Time Machine natively supports Microsoft’s Active Directory Authentication so users with a virtual date do not get locked out of their domain as would happen with changing the system clock.

Time Machine does not require any coding modifications to your applications.  Whether you are running in-house developed applications, off-the-shelf third party software or a combination, Time Machine will be able to provide virtual dates to your software stack wherever it is needed.

“The addition of variable clock speed is very exciting to our customers.  It opens new doors to use cases that were not possible before.  We are learning of new usages every day from our customers,” Said Paul Wang, CTO of Solution-Soft.  “We have a utility company customer using faster virtual clocks to train their Network Operating Center operators to avoid system wide blackout; where weeks of critical simulation data can be played out during hours of a training session.  We also have a banking customer, who utilizes a faster virtual clock, so a two week reliability test can be done in two days.  Another example is an insurance company that creates a slower virtual clock to ensure data loading can be finished within their one hour deadline.”
